Introducing Animate Studio: Turn Any Image into a Cinematic Video in Seconds

June 5, 2026·4 min read

We've been building toward this for a while. Today, Animate Studio is live - a standalone tool inside StudioPro that lets you create cinematic video clips from any image in seconds.

Here's why we built it and what it can do.

The Problem We Solved

The existing workflow for AI video was fragmented. You'd generate an image in one tool, download it, upload it to a video tool, fight with formatting and sizing, then get back a result that didn't match what you imagined.

Animate Studio collapses this into a single, unified flow - no exports, no re-uploads, no format headaches.

How It Works

The workflow has two steps:

Step 1: Create or Upload Your Image

Option A - AI Image Generation
Type a description of the scene you want. Choose from multiple image generation engines depending on your style and quality needs:

  • Flux Schnell - Fast, free-tier friendly, great for prototyping
  • Flux Dev - Higher detail, more precise prompt adherence
  • Nano Banana Pro - Ultra-detailed photorealistic output
  • Nano Banana 2 - Stylized and artistic renderings

The image generates in seconds. If you don't like it, regenerate - each attempt costs only a small number of credits.

Option B - Upload Your Own Image
Have a specific image in mind? Upload any JPG, PNG, or WEBP (up to 10MB). The image is securely stored and ready for animation immediately.

Step 2: Animate It

Select your animation engine, write an optional motion prompt, set duration (3–10 seconds), and choose aspect ratio. Click Animate.

Your video renders in the background - typically 30–120 seconds depending on tier - and appears in the Preview panel when ready.

Animation Engines

Animate Studio has access to all the same render engines as the Story Pipeline:

  • Economy Render - Fast, 720p, great for prototypes
  • HD Render - 1080p standard quality
  • Cinematic Render - 1080p with native AI audio
  • Studio Render - Maximum quality, ultra-HD processing
  • Vivid Render - Hyper-stylized, vivid color grading for anime and art

Each engine has different credit costs and generation speeds. The quality difference between Economy and Studio tiers is substantial - we recommend trying both on the same image to see the gap.

What People Are Making with It

Character reveals - Anime characters and fantasy figures brought to life from concept art. A single illustration becomes a 10-second cinematic scene.

Product showcases - Product photos animated with subtle camera movement and reflections. More engaging than static images in ads without the cost of a full production shoot.

Concept art previsualization - Filmmakers and game studios use Animate Studio to test how a still concept will look in motion before committing to full production.

Social content - Animated thumbnails, intro cards, and single-shot video content for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube.

Fan art and creative work - Artists bringing their illustrations and paintings to life.

The Character Consistency Advantage

One underrated benefit of the image-first animation approach: character consistency across an entire production.

Standard text-to-video AI generates each scene independently, which means your character looks different from scene to scene. The image-first workflow locks a character's appearance in a single reference image, then uses that image as the starting frame for every animated scene.

The result: a cohesive character that looks the same across every clip in your project. This is the approach used in high-quality AI film production, and now it's available as a simple two-step workflow.

Credits and Pricing

Image generation: 1–15 credits depending on model
Animation: 15–80 credits depending on engine and duration

The free plan includes enough credits to generate several complete animations. No credit card required to try it.

Paid plans unlock higher credit volumes and access to premium render engines with native audio.

What's Next

Animate Studio is the foundation for several features we're building:

  • Batch animation - Animate multiple images simultaneously
  • Style locking - Apply a consistent visual treatment across an entire series
  • Direct pipeline integration - Use Animate Studio outputs as scenes in a full Story Pipeline
